There may be less activity on campus over the summer, but there are still plenty of places on campus to get food and coffee on weekdays, including several platforms at the Coffee House and locations operated by Dining Services.

Weekend food and coffee service on campus is limited over the summer.

Coffee House and CoHo South

The Coffee House and CoHo South are both open Monday-Friday, offering coffee, bagels, pizza, sushi, sandwiches and more.

MORE ABOUT SUMMER

In the Coffee House, Swirlz Bakery, Ciao, Fickle Pickle Deli and Mandalay Express are open; grab-and-go food and beverages are available from the CoHo Marketplace.

The CoHo is open 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., although some platforms close earlier. Complete hours are listed online. The CoHo South is open 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Dining Services

Dining Services operates a page listing open facilities. This summer, they include:

  • Segundo Dining Commons: serving breakfast, lunch and dinner every day
  • Tercero Market: Open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. every day
  • Sage Street Market and Café: The café is open weekdays 8 a.m.-2 p.m., while the market is open weekdays 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Scrubs Café: Open weekdays, serving coffee 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and the “weigh-and-pay” grill and hot/cold bar 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Its menu changes daily.
  • Spokes Grill: Open weekdays 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Egghead-themed collector cups are still available for $5 each while supplies last.

  • Peet’s Coffee at the ARC and King Hall Coffee: Both are open weekdays 8 a.m.-2 p.m., and all three Peet’s locations are serving summer drinks: sparkling grapefruit cold brew, sparkling passion fruit tea and sparkling lemonade.
  • Food trucks are scheduled to be at the Silo Patio each weekday.

Memorial Union, Shields Library

Both the Memorial Union and Shields Library operate on slightly reduced schedules over the summer.

The Memorial Union is open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on weekdays, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekends. Its hours are available online, as are hours for the Memorial Union Games Area

Shields Library’s hours vary by week, and are posted online. The library’s 24-Hour Study Room is open during the summer.

Transportation Services, Unitrans

Over the summer, paid parking permits will still be required on all weekdays. Transportation Services’ motorist assistance continues to be available to help those who are locked out of their vehicles, or who need a jump start or a tire inflated. Motorist assistance can be reached at 530-754-3687 weekdays from 7:15 a.m.- 5:45 p.m.

Unitrans is operating on its summer schedule, and is preparing for fare and service changes that go into effect Aug. 5. The cash fare to ride Unitrans will increase a quarter to $1.50. Other passes will be priced as follows:

  • 10-ride ticket: $8.50 (was $7.50)
  • Monthly pass: $34 (was $30)
  • Quarterly pass: $87 (was $77)
  • Annual pass: $245 (was $216)

The fare increase, passed by the Unitrans Advisory Committee and the Davis City Council earlier this year, includes additional price increases for the multi-ride passes that will take effect in 2025.

This fall, Unitrans will add new departures to the A, K and M lines, and will add a stop to the O line at Pole Line Road southbound near the Cambridge House Apartments.

Starting Sept. 28, it will provide a fare-free Farmers Market Shuttle on Saturday mornings. The route will have a vintage double-decker bus traveling between the Memorial Union Terminal and Downtown Davis every 30 minutes between 9 a.m. and noon. The route is a pilot program, and will be evaluated next June, Unitrans says.
