The University of California, Davis, released today (July 31) more information about its plans for fall quarter instruction and operations.
An overview for fall was included in a message from Chancellor Gary S. May that was distributed to the campus community. It is also being sent to incoming students and parents.
The update shared information about health and safety; instruction and academic support; housing and dining halls; and student programs, services and recreation with a link to more information in answers to frequently asked questions.
New is the Campus Ready Plan for the gradual return of research, operations, instruction and other activities in a way that limits the spread of COVID-19.
In his message, the chancellor said the campus has also drafted an Emergency Public Health Policy that calls for the campus community to embrace the measures public health officials have already ordered and details new mitigations such as daily symptom surveys for accessing a university building and contact tracing efforts.
“We are prioritizing the health of all members of our UC Davis community while doing all we can to provide top-quality education experiences that help our students progress toward their degree and succeed,” the update said.
In keeping with the regular academic calendar, fall instruction is scheduled to start Sept. 30.
