Creativity and productivity are the twin themes of this year's Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology set for Sept. 8 to 11.
Program highlights include a mix of attractions, ranging from faculty discussion of big-picture questions like how to generate instructor enthusiasm to the usage of online tools like Facebook and Twitter to spark student interest in class topics.
Participants will have the opportunity to observe demonstrations by faculty members, try out new tools and teaching approaches in computer classrooms, and have plenty of opportunities to talk shop with colleagues. The schedule is not yet available, but general information is available here.
Andy Jones and Leslie Madsen-Brooks coordinate the Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology. Jones said, "Every year SITT participants make both discoveries and new friends, and we expect both to be especially true next month."
The workshops will be held in 26 Wellman Hall. Sessions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day except Sept. 11, when the program wraps up at noon.
Registration is now open. Faculty can attend for free.
