Retiree Center's Fall Fest
The UC Davis Retiree Center will hold its Fall Fest, with dinner and entertainment, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, on the Moss Patio at the Buehler Alumni Center.
The organizers announced a menu of tri-tip and chicken, vegetarian ravioli, side dishes, salads and dessert from Ludy’s Main Street Barbecue of Woodland. The ticket price also includes nonalcoholic beverages; wine and beer will be available for purchase. Music will be by the Mellow Fellas.
Tickets are $20 each for members of the UC Davis Retirees Association and the UC Davis Emeriti Association and their guests; $25 for nonmembers and guests.
If you’re new to either association, and you join by Sept. 6, you’ll get a discount on Fall Fest tickets: $10 for you and $10 for one guest. Additional guests may attend at the member rate of $20 each.

Retiree Survey
Retired UC staff and non-senate academics should watch for an e-mail in late September inviting them to participate in an online survey about their post-retirement activities.
This is the first time such a survey has been undertaken, and it is intended to complement a recent survey of UC emeriti faculty that concluded our retired emeriti — by virtue of their continued service to UC — constitute a virtual 11th campus. Read an article about the emeriti survey in the August edition of UC’s New Dimensions benefits newsletter for retirees (PDF).
The primary purpose of the short survey is to provide information that can be used by the individual campus and lab retiree associations and by campus retiree centers to better serve and advance the interests of UC’s retired staff.
The survey was developed by a team of retirees from UC campuses and staff from UC retiree centers. It is sponsored by the Council of UC Retiree Associations, which consists of representatives from every UC staff retiree organization.
UC Davis Retirees Association President Dave Shelby urges all retired staff and non-senate academics to participate in the survey. “Your responses will help us advocate on your behalf.”
