Feb. 11, Friday -- Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Gary Snyder, a UC Davis professor emeritus of English, and nature journalist David Lukas will conduct a reading and talk about their contributions to a new book, "The Nature of This Place: Investigations and Adventures in the Yuba Watershed" from noon to 1 p.m. in the Memorial Union's King Lounge.

The book contains a mix of essays, poems, drawings and photographs gathered over the past 20 years from neighbors on San Juan Ridge in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Snyder and Lukas will sign copies of the book after the reading. The event is free and open to the public.
