Unitrans has a new route serving the perimeter of the central campus.

H Line buses run clockwise along Russell Boulevard, B Street, First Street, Old Davis Road, La Rue Road and back to Russell, with two detours: in and out of the Memorial Union Terminal, around the Vanderhoef Quad and into the Health Sciences District.

The route has 10 stops, including B Street across from Central Park, Old Davis Road just south of First Street, the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, the Genome and Biomedical Sciences Facility, and the Activities and Recreation Center.

The H Line is in service weekdays only; the bus departs every half hour from the MU Terminal, 7:10 a.m. to 4:20 p.m. See the H Line map — and track the bus's location in real time.

Hutchison Drive closure

Hutchison Drive in the campus core will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 19) for asphalt work, Design and Construction Management announced. The work, between California Avenue and the east side of Shields Library, is part of the Hutchison Drive corridor improvement project that is wrapping up.

'Understanding Religious Differences'

Sign-ups are being taken for the next offering of “Understanding Religious Differences in the Workplace,” presented by the Diversity Education Program.

The program is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday, Oct. 28, in 136 Hoagland Hall. The instructors: Lisa Brodkey, Binnie Singh and Harold Stewart-Carballo.

Mikael Villalobos, administrator of diversity education, said: “Our campus community includes a rich diversity of religious and spiritual beliefs and practices. This provides us with both opportunities and challenges as we strive to create environments that respect our various values and observances.

“This course will share information about various religious and spiritual traditions and offer strategies for honoring religious and spiritual differences in the workplace.”
