Ladysmith Black Mambazo
The Ladysmith Black Mambazo concert is still on for 8 p.m. March 16 in Jackson Hall at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts.

Grupo Corpo—Seven or Eight Pieces for a Ballet and the new work Breu, both choreographed by Rodrigo Pederneiras. RESCHEDULED from 8 p.m. March 13, Jackson Hall, to a time and date not yet announced.

Academy of Ancient Music—This orchestra performs on instruments and in styles that date from the time of the music’s composition. The academy’s Mondavi Center program: J.S. Bach’s complete Brandenburg Concertos. RESCHEDULED from 8 p.m. March 14, Jackson Hall, to 8 p.m. March 17, Jackson Hall. Preperformance lecture by music professor Jessie Ann Owens, dean of the Division of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies, 7 p.m., Jackson Hall.

Vienna Boys Choir—Sacred works and spirituals, popular tunes and folk songs. CANCELED (the concert had been scheduled for 3 p.m. March 15, Jackson Hall). This concert is not being rescheduled.

At 3:30 p.m. today (March 13), a Mondavi Center spokeswoman said the center anticipates having the repair project completed by Monday night, March 16, leaving the Jackson Hall schedule unaffected from that date forward:

Ladysmith Black Mambazo—A cappella group that has introduced the beauties of Zulu harmony to a wide international audience over the last four decades. 8 p.m. March 16, Jackson Hall.

Vanguard Jazz Orchestra—Based in the world-famous New York City jazz club the Village Vanguard, this orchestra features 16 of the city’s finest players, with a pedigree that goes back to the legendary Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra. 8 p.m. March 20, Jackson Hall. Preperformance lecture by Steve Roach, director of jazz studies, California State University, Sacramento, 7 p.m., Studio Theatre.

Bodil Wennberg Music Festival—13th annual fundraiser for Davis public schools’ music programs. Presented by the Davis Schools Orchestral Music Association. The festival features students from those programs, performing classical works. 2:30 p.m. March 21, Jackson Hall.

Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra—Bach’s Birthday Celebration. Program includes Magnificat and excerpts from the Passions and Masses. Not appropriate for children under 6. 7 p.m. March 22, Jackson Hall.

Three concerts are scheduled March 20-22 in the Mondavi Center's Studio Theatre, and this schedule remains intact:

Curtis on Tour—Young performers from Philadelphia’s Curtis Institute of Music, with Curtis alumnus Alex Kerr on violin and Philadelphia Orchestra bassist Hal Robinson. Igor Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat and David Ludwig’s From the Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám. 8 p.m. March 21 and 2 p.m. March 22, Studio Theatre. A school matinee is scheduled for 11 a.m. March 20. (Curtis on Tour is scheduled to present an advance concert, free and open to the public, at 3:30 p.m. March 20 at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.)
