Forum@MC: Among the Living: The 21st Century Orchestra. With David Halen, concertmaster, Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, and Don Roth, executive director of the Mondavi Center, discussing the symphony’s innovative programming and its role as champion of new orchestral works.
Concert: Rouse’s Rapture, Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2, Sibelius’ Symphony No. 7 and Adams’ Dr. Atomic Symphony. 8 p.m. April 16, Jackson Hall.
April 21 and 22: Arlo Gurthie and Family
Forum@MC: Ballads and Broadsides, about Woody Guthrie’s legacy and the protest tradition in American popular music, then and now. With Arlo Guthrie; Ari Y. Kelman, assistant professor, American studies; and Jesse Drew, director, technocultural studies. 5 p.m. April 16, Vanderhoef Studio Theatre, with Jeffrey Callison, host of KXJZ Radio’s Insight, as the moderator.
Concert: The Guthrie Family Rides Again, featuring storyteller Arlo and his family — and music from the Woody Guthrie archive, in the Mondavi Center’s American Heritage series. 8 p.m. April 22, Jackson Hall.
