Valentine's Day doesn't just have to be about chocolate — there's room for science, too. Staff members at the Bodega Marine Laboratory are spreading awareness of endangered white abalone (and their work to save them!) with a series of pun-filled Valentine's Day images.
Take a virtual walk through campus
Want to revisit the inaugural exhibit at the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art? Know someone on the other side of the globe who wants to take a walk through the arboretum? Google has updated its interactive Street View images of several parts of campus: inside the art museum and inside King Hall, parts of the arboretum, the Tercero Residence Halls area, and more.
The images were captured in November 2016 but were only recently made available.
Researching Ant-Man?
Chancellor Gary S. May’s ongoing tour of the campus brought him last week to see where we keep the bugs! He joined Helene Dillard, dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, on a visit to the Bohart Museum of Entomology, which houses nearly 8 million specimens. Story and more photos by Kathy Keatley Garvey.
