Men's basketball head coach Jim Les didn't need the help of football coach Dan Hawkins after all.

Hawkins offered to join the squad for Saturday's nationally televised ESPNU broadcast (video above), but the Aggies were victorious without him. UC Davis beat Long Beach State 75-71 in overtime, just after the women's team beat UC Santa Barbara 70-61.

UC Davis's men's team now has an opportunity to record another perfect home record, the second in the last three seasons, when Hawai'i visits Hamilton Court for Thursday's 7 p.m. home finale. The Aggies will enter that Senior Night matchup with an 18-11 overall and 10-4 Big West record.
