To the UC Davis Community,

We understand that many of you are concerned by news reports about the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ consideration of establishing a legal, binary definition of gender under Title IX. 

While no policy decision has been made, we share concerns about what any action or decision might have on our trans and intersex community members. The University of California has policies in place to protect people against discrimination. It is critical that every member of our campus community feels valued for who they are.

Should you need support, please use the resources we offer on campus, especially the LGBTQIA Resource Center. The center will be holding a decompression space on Friday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m. in the center (in the Student Community Center) to celebrate, hold space and connect.

Our community is stronger when we support and respect one another.
