Flags and firetrucks dominated April 26 at the UC Davis Medical Center when it hosted Burn Brigade 2009. Hundreds of people turned out to see a lineup of more than 50 firetrucks—as pictured from atop a fire ladder. There was something else to celebrate, too. The Firefighters Burn Institute Regional Burn Center, which is made possible by a 35-year partnership between the UC Davis Medical Center and the Firefighters Burn Institute, is getting some new digs. The new burn center will be located in the medical center’s new Surgery and Emergency Services Pavilion, now under construction. Once open, it will allow UC Davis to consolidate all of its burn services into a single location.
