Oct. 18, Wednesday -- Biotech executives, investors and UC Davis researchers will gather at Bio Summit 2006 to discuss the future of the biotech industry and look at innovation and entrepreneurship across the greater Sacramento region. The keynote address will be given by Jane Lebkowski, senior vice president of research for Geron Corp., on how stem cells are being used for therapeutic medicines. Other topics will include investing in the frontiers of human health and biotech research initiatives at UC Davis. The summit will be held in UC Davis' Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is organized by TechCoire, a business education and networking organization, and UC Davis CONNECT, which promotes entrepreneurship and business development in the UC Davis community.
