Ticket discounts are being offered for the Picnic Day Fashion Show, Yamato: The Drummers of Japan at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, and the Sacramento Republic FC’s home opener.

• PICNIC DAY FASHION SHOW — Always wanted to attend this show but missed out on tickets? Then take note: The UC Davis Fashion and Design Society, or FADS, announced it will be selling tickets from March 12 to 30 for $2 off.

The FADS students will present two high-energy runway shows, 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Picnic Day, Saturday, April 21, in the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) Ballroom. FADS is calling this year’s production “Impression/Expression,” featuring garments created and executed by students in the Department of Design’s “Signature Collections” class.

The advance, discounted ticket offer — $10 each — will be available for either show. The UC Davis Ticket Office is handling sales; look for the link on the Department of Design website on March 12.

The ticket price will be $12 after March 30, and, if any are still left, $15 the day of the shows.

• WELL-BEING TICKET DEAL FOR MARCH — Staff and faculty can buy tickets at $10 each (limit two per person) to see Yamato: The Drummers of Japan, scheduled to perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18, in Jackson Hall at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts.

Spectacularly visual, in costuming and high-energy movement, these taiko masters present Chousensha (The Challengers), in which they challenge their own limits physically and rhythmically, expressing emotions related to overcoming obstacles in their lives.

The Mondavi Center and the Staff and Faculty Health and Well-Being Program are partnering to offer a monthly ticket deal through May. For each month’s deal, you must purchase your tickets from the 1st to the 14th.
