UC Davis recently led an effort to create on online database of educational materials for use in education and training in the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR).
To date, 39 institutions across the country have contributed to the publically accessible Web site: twiki.library.ucsf.edu/do/view/ResearchEthics/WebHome.
The National Center for Research Resources funded the project through an administrative supplement to the UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Award, or CTSA, which funds the university’s Clinical and Translational Science Center.
Alexander Kon, the center’s director of bioethics, and an associate professor of pediatrics and bioethics, led the effort to create the RCR Web site. Debie Schiling of UC Davis was among those assisting him.
UC Davis units with materials to share in the online inventory are asked to send electronic files to Schilling, Debie.Schilling@ucdmc.ucdavis.edu.
