If there is a crowd at Aggie Stadium, and the lights are on, it must be an Aggie football game on Saturday, right?
Not necessarily. UC Davis is allowing Davis High School the use of Aggie Stadium for football games on Thursday, Sept. 10; Friday, Sept. 18; and Thursday, Sept. 24.
Aggie Stadium, thus, will be Davis High’s home field on these three dates, while the Davis High stadium is being renovated.
Frosh, junior varsity and varsity games are planned in Aggie Stadium: Sept. 10 vs. Folsom, Sept. 18 vs. Del Campo and Sept. 24 vs. Wood. Gates are set to open at 2:30 p.m., and kickoff times are as follows: frosh, 3 p.m.; JV, 5 p.m.; and varsity, 7:15 p.m.
The campus is not charging for stadium rental, but there will be a $6 fee for parking.
Gary Sandy, director of Local Government Relations for UC Davis’ Government and Community Relations, said: “This was a unique situation and we were happy to be able to help Davis High School.”
The Blue Devils are due to be back in their own stadium for an Oct. 23 game against Valley. The game will mark Davis High homecoming, as well as the first game in the new stadium.
